Transformations is a series of magnificently printed archival pigment portraits from surrealistically deteriorated film negatives. The September exhibition at Cleveland Height’s Foothill Galleries of the Photo SuccessionTransformations is the work of Dr. Unni Krishnan Pulikkal of Kerala, India. Dr. Pulikkal’s portraits are printed from negatives given to him by associates who had emptied a photographer’s studio abandoned for six decaying decades. The hauntingly reconstructed images are a vision of faces resurrected from the past. (Friday September 13th through October 8th)

Silver, Platinum, Gold, Foothills’ October exhibition, is curated by Herbert Ascherman. Drawn from both local and national practitioners, the exhibition will display contemporary examples of Alternative based 19thC. photography such as Platinum prints, wet plate collodion ambrotypes and tintypes, albumen, orotone and daguerreotypes. (October 11th through November 7th)
